    Assistant Fire Marshal

    The City of Hendersonville Fire Department, NC is seeking an experienced Assistant Fire Marshal committed to perform paraprofessional and technical work for the Life Safety Division of the City of Hendersonville Fire Department. This is your chance to shine! 

    The Hendersonville Fire Department consists of three divisions: Administration, Operations, and Life Safety. The Life Safety division is made up of a Fire Marshal, two Assistant Fire Marshals and one part-time Fire Inspector. The Life Safety division is responsible for over 4,000 fire inspections, conducts plans review for existing and new properties within the City and coordinates and conducts over 150 hours of public education annually.

    The Assistant Fire Marshal performs roles in fire and life safety education, construction plans review, annual fire inspections, evaluating information to determine compliance with codes and standards, administrative tasks such as maintaining information files and processing paperwork, as well as testing fire suppression and fire alarm systems.

    Preferred Qualifications

    An Associate’s Degree in Fire Science or related field of study.

    North Carolina Fire Inspector Probationary within 90 days of employment.

    Expected Hiring Range

    $40,696 to $61,929 (Grade 15)
