POSITION:                            PART-TIME FIREFIGHTER

SALARY:                                $12.24 PER HOUR

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

• ·        Ability to use good, sound judgment during a routine or emergency fire call
• ·        Attends in-service classes to maintain knowledge of fire suppression
• ·        Ability to maintain physical fitness standards as required to perform assigned work
• ·        Knowledge of geography of the City of Clinton including building layouts
• ·        Participates in special projects and conducting public training sessions
• ·        Assist with  pre-incident surveys and development of pre-fire plans
• ·        Considerable knowledge of the fire service regulations
• ·        Ability to produce accurate reports and written documentation
• ·        Regards the integrity and respects fellow employees
• ·        Courteous and respectful to the public
• ·        Performs other related job duties as required

REQUIREMENTS

• Must be a high school graduate or obtained GED status

• ·        Must have a valid NC Class B driver’s license
• ·        Must be 21 years of age to be hired as a Firefighter only
• ·        Must be able  to obtain and maintain other certifications as specified by the City
• REQUIREMENTS TO APPLY
• ·        Must have Firefighter 1 & 2, Hazmat and NIMS 100, 200, 700 & 800 certifications (attach state transcript from OSFM)
• ·        Include copy of residential state driver’s license record
• ·        Ability to work a minimum of forty eight (48) hours within the fire department’s twenty-eight (28) day cycle, and work flexible shifts such as: day/night, weekends, holidays, call ins, call backs, special assignments, and twenty-four (24) hour rotating shifts
