The Northern Wake Fire Department is accepting applications for the position of Battalion Chief.

Application Deadline:   February 28, 2019 @ 5:00pm  

Educational Requirements:  Minimum of a high school diploma or GED with a Bachelor’s degree in fire protection technology or a related field.  Applicants without a Bachelor’s degree in fire protection technology or a related field may submit a body of work to be considered as an equivalent substitute. 

Experience Requirements: Minimum of 7-years of fire service experience with 2-years’ experience in the position of Captain or above.  Experience in a volunteer or combination fire department is preferred.

Job Description:  Battalion Chief               

 The position of Battalion Chief requires the employee to perform a myriad of tasks encompassing the many responsibilities required on an emergency scene, managing, directing and supervising personnel assigned to multiple stations.  These responsibilities include but are not limited to response to Fire, EMS, Rescue incidents, staffing and program management, employee performance evaluations, employee training and development, as well as other duties specified by the Fire Chief.

 Annual Salary:  $56,106 - $95,380 (FLSA Exempt)
